Interface ideas (Map creation --> Toolbox)

I've got some ideas for map creation, especially the Shapes tool, the Polygon tool, and also the Colours with hich to create these things. First off, I would enjoy a "filled shape" and a "filled Polygon" ala DeLuxePaint/PersonalPaint programmes from the Amiga. Just having the outline Shape/Polygon makes it a wee bit difficult if you have odd shapes of the rooms you're creating. Well, it makes it a bit more timeconsuming to make it the way I want to make it. As for Colours of the drawn shapes and lies, I would think it be an idea to have a palette tool where you can define your own colours, I would personally like to be able to choose the number of colour on this palette, ranging from 4 to 64 (with either 8 or 16 colours as default). This is also a thing from DPaint/PPaint. Another thing I found, is that there's no way or erasing parts of a line. Say I've drawn a bit over the map to show player footsteps in the dust, and I want to erase then. The "select rectangle" works but sometimes I don't want to erase all of it, just some few bits and pieces. Or, I've drawn a map utilising the Shapes tool, and want to erase parts of some of the shapes. An "Eraser" tool which basically allow me to draw with the background colour would be very useful for this purpose. All those ideas for improvement aside, I've come to really enjoy the Roll20 as an aid, very easy to use even if I find some parts of the drawing toolbox could use a wee bit of improvement. If wanted, I can find a screenshot of the old Amiga programmes to show the interface of which I have ruthlessly stolen the "roll20 improvement ideas" ;) Thanks for a very good service, I know it's hard to improve upon perfection, but Steve Harris did it when he left Gypsy's Kiss to form Iron Maiden. So I know it _can_ be done ;) Doc

Filling shapes and polygons is already a feature. Click on the second color box (image below) and select a color. That will create filled shapes.&nbsp; You can also go to a website such as:&nbsp; <a href="http://html-color-codes.info/" rel="nofollow">http://html-color-codes.info/</a> &nbsp;get the color code you desire and input it in the box (see image below).&nbsp; Because we use Vectors and not Raster drawings you cannot erase parts of the line. That is a functional limitation of vectors. The advantage behind vectors are that they are crisp and clear at every zoom level. There is no pixelation with vectors. My suggestion is that you draw shorter line segments so that you can delete them without deleting the whole.&nbsp; - Gauss
Ahh, right, thanks :D Good thing I'm already fairly familiar with hexcodes, things like FF00FF creates a purple colour, 00FFFF is yellow, etc. I've found a way around the "erase" bit... just draw over the offending lines with a colour (and background colour) and there I am... So there's always a way around problems once I get a nudge in the right direction. Thanks :D

Happy to help, if you need any more help let me know. With websites like the one I linked above you can find any color you desire. The one I link above, you click the color and then it tells you the hex code.&nbsp; - Gauss
I'd like to know if it would be possible in the map generating api of the campaign creation roster to create a map of say; a continent, where each square, or hex on the map could be a link/window to a detailed playing feild that say a group in travel icon could represent, and be clicked to bamf into the melee/playing field of that region? Basicly, maps within a Map. Not sure if my querry is comprehensible?

Coalcrystal , first, this is probably not the right thread for your question. These types of questions are better posted in the Specific Use forum. Second, if I understand you correctly, you are asking for a link on the map to another window inside the game?&nbsp; Example: on a map overview is a city named 'Metropolis'. You click on the city and it takes you to a map of 'Metropolis'? If the example is correct, the answer is no. You cannot currently do this. I suggest you post the idea in a suggestion thread (of its own, since it is off-topic to this suggestion thread).&nbsp; Note: if you are asking is it possible with the API, the answer would be: ask the API forum. :) - Gauss
Wow, ok, thanks Gauss! I hope that the APTK crew who built the Api wouldn't have to loose any of the already bombtastic funtionalities the engine already delivers to the user interface in order to make it happen... in the mean time, do you know if it will be possible to change out the vector layer displaying the map graphics while under the token icons during a running campaign without too much pain and suffering if the engine does this presently; there's portably know need for specialised interactive clicks.... we could just swtch out table cloths like a magician!?
